Wana, South Waziristan: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Wana to assess the prevailing security situation and operational readiness along Pakistan’s western border.

During the visit, the Field Marshal laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument, offered Fateha, and paid tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives defending the nation. He underscored that the sacrifices of Shuhada form the cornerstone of Pakistan’s security and resilience.
Field Marshal Munir received a comprehensive briefing on the security environment, ongoing intelligence-based operations, and border management measures. Detailed updates were provided on Operation Ghazab lil Haq and developments along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.
Interacting with officers and troops deployed in forward areas, the COAS lauded their professionalism, vigilance, and morale, praising their steadfast commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and regional stability.
The Field Marshal emphasised that the use of Afghan soil by Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan for terrorism against Pakistan was unacceptable and pledged that all necessary measures would be taken to neutralize cross-border threats. He reiterated that lasting peace can only be achieved if the Afghan Taliban renounce support for terrorist groups.
Appreciating the operational preparedness of the Pakistan Army, Field Marshal Munir expressed full confidence in the combat readiness, synergy, and resilience of formations along the western border. Upon arrival, he was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
