Karachi, 10 February 2026 — The Maritime Security Exercise SEA GUARD-26 culminated in Karachi with a debrief session, attended by Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Navy, as the Chief Guest.

During the debrief, representatives from participating organizations received an analytical review of the exercise, covering multiple scenarios designed to test information-sharing and response mechanisms among maritime stakeholders in handling emergencies and contingencies at sea.
Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz praised the professional conduct of the exercise and highlighted the pivotal role of the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC) in coordinating the efforts of all maritime stakeholders. He underscored the importance of continuous collaboration and reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to protecting national maritime interests.
The third edition of SEA GUARD brought together representatives from government regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, private sector maritime entities, and academia. Operational activities during the exercise included port and harbour security, vessel and infrastructure protection, counter-narcotics operations, and search and rescue missions, reflecting the exercise’s focus on addressing complex, multi-faceted maritime challenges.
