The protests reportedly broke out following reports of the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in joint US–Israel strikes, triggering anger among demonstrators gathered near the diplomatic facility.
According to a statement issued by the Edhi Foundation, law enforcement agencies used tear gas and baton charges to disperse protesters after the situation turned violent.
Authorities temporarily sealed roads connecting Sultanabad to Mai Kolachi Road, while traffic coming from Jinnah Bridge was diverted toward I.I. Chundrigar Road to ease congestion and prevent further escalation.
Security officials urged citizens to avoid the area as forces continued operations to restore order and ensure the safety of residents and diplomatic premises. Emergency services remained on high alert while injured individuals were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
