The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) is advancing partnerships with international firms while adopting modern technological solutions to increase daily oil and gas production.
As part of these efforts, OGDCL signed a major agreement with French company SNF S.A. to install advanced water injection systems at the Kunnar and Pasakhi oil fields. The project is expected to increase combined production by approximately 9 million barrels of oil and 3 billion cubic feet of gas, generating an estimated $460 million in revenue.
Officials said the implementation of improved technical measures has already raised crude oil output by up to 750 barrels per day, helping optimise production from mature oil fields and utilise existing capacity more efficiently.
Authorities noted that the increase in domestic energy production would enhance Pakistan’s energy self-reliance, support economic stability, and contribute to long-term sustainable growth.
