Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, held a series of high-level engagements during his official visit to Türkiye, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Field Marshal Munir separately met Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler and Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu.

The meetings covered matters of mutual interest, bilateral defence cooperation and the regional security situation.

Field Marshal Munir also attended a meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee established under the Makkah Agreement for Joint Defence, bringing together Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.

Representatives from the three countries reviewed opportunities to strengthen strategic coordination and expand defence cooperation under the trilateral framework.

The engagements highlighted the close relations between Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia and their growing cooperation in defence and strategic affairs.

The Istanbul meetings come as the three countries work to develop the mechanisms established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and enhance coordination on regional security.
