The action follows a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who reviewed the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and directed immediate accountability.
According to suspension orders seen by Geo News, the officials removed from their positions include Imran Ahmed Rajput, Senior Director Municipal Services at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), and Rashid Fayyaz, Assistant Executive Engineer at the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
Authorities said further inquiries are underway to determine additional responsibility and assess lapses that led to the fatal accident, which has sparked intense public outrage and renewed criticism of Karachi’s civic infrastructure.
