During the operation, five militants were killed following an intense exchange of fire. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the neutralized terrorists, who were reportedly involved in multiple attacks against security forces and innocent civilians.
Tragically, Major Adeel Zaman, aged 36 and a resident of Dera Ismail Khan District, embraced martyrdom while leading his troops from the front. The officer was praised for his gallantry and leadership during the operation.
Sanitization operations are ongoing to ensure the elimination of any remaining militants in the area. Authorities reaffirmed that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign, under the vision “Azm e Istehkam” as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue relentlessly to eradicate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
