The suspect, identified as Asim, son of Asghar Ali Kalmaty Baloch, was apprehended from Gulshan-e-Iqbal’s Mano Goth area. Authorities recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosive material during the operation.
Officials said the arrested individual was affiliated with a banned militant outfit and had joined the group in 2023 on the instructions of its commander. He had reportedly been involved in logistics support, including the distribution of weapons, ammunition, and supplies, as well as facilitation activities.
Following the death of his commander in 2025, the suspect allegedly went into hiding abroad before re-establishing links with the group. Investigators revealed that he had planned to undergo further militant training after Eid on directives from senior operatives.
The suspect also remained active on social media platforms, where he was allegedly involved in spreading propaganda and inciting youth against state institutions and security forces.
Law enforcement agencies have launched further raids to apprehend his accomplices. The accused has been handed over to CTD Police for legal proceedings.
Authorities urged citizens to report any suspicious activity through official helplines, assuring confidentiality of informants.
