The directive was issued on the instructions of Additional Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon, who emphasized the need for strict enforcement of traffic laws across the metropolis. Authorities have extended the earlier deadline of March 30 to provide additional time for vehicle owners to install officially approved number plates.
According to the statement, strict legal action will be taken from April 1 against motorists using unapproved, decorative, or private number plates. Drivers operating vehicles without valid licenses will also face penalties without exception.
Police officials have advised citizens to avoid inconvenience by ensuring compliance with regulations for both small and large vehicles. The move is part of broader efforts to enhance law enforcement, improve vehicle identification, and strengthen security measures across Karachi.
