Security sources said that weapons and explosives recovered from the bodies of the attackers indicated their identity and origin.
The report revealed that the assault began when a suicide bomber approached the FC Headquarters’ main gate from Sanheri Masjid Road. Wearing a shawl to disguise himself, he detonated his explosives at the checkpoint, killing three personnel instantly. Despite the intensity of the blast, the main gate remained undamaged.
Moments later, two more attackers—dressed in shalwar kameez and armed with rifles and hand grenades—entered through a side gate. After entering, they moved toward the motorcycle stand and opened fire. Security forces engaged them immediately, killing both attackers within 30–40 meters of the main entrance.
According to the report, the attackers intended to take personnel hostage, as senior officers and a large number of FC staff were present at the headquarters at the time, and a parade was underway.
Authorities confirmed that the FC Headquarters has now been fully cleared and secured.
