Alleged Disinformation Campaign Targets Pakistan’s Regional Peace Efforts
Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace have reportedly raised concerns in neighboring India, with emerging reports suggesting a coordinated campaign aimed at undermining its diplomatic initiatives in the Middle East.

According to investigative findings, an alleged disinformation network involving actors from India and Afghanistan sought to sabotage Pakistan’s outreach by using fake Iranian identities to spread anti-Pakistan narratives online.
Sources claim that multiple ghost social media accounts, including pages operating under names such as “INN Iran News” and “Iran TV,” were used to initiate the campaign. These accounts allegedly pushed false claims accusing Pakistan of assisting the United States in oil supply operations, aiming to provoke resentment.
Investigators further revealed that dozens of accounts posing as Iranian users were, in fact, operated from India and Afghanistan. Analysts noted that accounts managed from India played a key role in shaping the narrative, while those linked to Afghanistan were primarily used to amplify and spread the content.
Experts indicate that the campaign followed a structured “Initiator → Proliferator → Amplifier” model, a method commonly associated with organized information warfare. The objective, they say, was to portray Pakistan as being aligned with Western agendas and hostile toward Iran, thereby creating mistrust within the Muslim world.
Further analysis points to “Times of Iran News” as a central hub in the alleged operation, reportedly run from India while disseminating misleading information to a global audience.
Security and media analysts believe the campaign is part of a broader attempt to disrupt regional diplomacy and heighten tensions across the Middle East. They argue that such efforts are intended to weaken Pakistan’s standing in peace negotiations and foster divisions among regional stakeholders.
Experts have urged the public to remain cautious of misleading narratives and coordinated propaganda, warning that information warfare poses a significant threat to both national credibility and regional stability.
