According to the complaint, a close associate of B Praak and fellow Punjabi singer, Dilnoor, received two missed calls from an international number on January 5, which were initially ignored. The following day, Dilnoor received another call from a different foreign number.
During the call, the caller identified himself as Arju Bishnoi and claimed affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He instructed Dilnoor to pass on a threatening message to B Praak, police said.
The caller allegedly demanded Rs100 million within one week and warned that although B Praak could travel anywhere in the world, anyone found in his proximity would be targeted. The threat further stated that failure to comply would result in the singer being “destroyed” and killed.
Following the complaint, police registered a case and began tracing the origin of the calls. Law enforcement officials said efforts were underway to identify and apprehend those involved in issuing the threats.
B Praak is among the most prominent names in Punjabi and Hindi music, widely acclaimed for chart-topping songs such as Mann Bharrya and Sari Duniya Jala Denge from the film Animal.
