General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), paid a farewell visit to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the COAS praised General Sahir Shamshad Mirza for his distinguished leadership, strategic vision, and dedicated service to the Pakistan Armed Forces. He highlighted the CJCSC’s key role in strengthening tri-services coordination, enhancing joint operational readiness, and contributing to Pakistan’s strategic security objectives.
General Asim Munir also acknowledged the outgoing CJCSC’s efforts toward regional stability, military diplomacy, and the advancement of Pakistan’s defence partnerships with friendly nations.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza expressed his gratitude to the COAS and the Armed Forces for their unwavering support throughout his career.
Upon his arrival at GHQ, the CJCSC laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and received a Guard of Honour presented by a well-turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army.
