Crystal Palace suffered a 2-1 defeat to Strasbourg in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday, as Liam Rosenior’s side overturned a first-half deficit to extend their unbeaten run in the competition.

Palace struck first when Tyrick Mitchell guided the ball into the net, and Ismaila Sarr came close to doubling the lead, striking the inside of the post with goalkeeper Mike Penders stranded well outside his area.
Strasbourg equalised early in the second half when Emanuel Emegha tapped home at the far post following a precise cross from Diego Moreira.
Palace continued to create chances, with Adam Wharton hitting the bar after Penders was again caught out of position. The Strasbourg goalkeeper redeemed himself moments later with a superb save to stop Yeremy Pino.
The missed opportunities proved costly, as Strasbourg scored on the counterattack. Julio Enciso’s free-kick cannoned off the post, and teenager Samir El Mourabet reacted fastest to slot in the rebound, securing the comeback victory.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner lamented his team’s wastefulness in front of goal.
“When you twice have an empty goal in front of you and miss both times, hitting the post, you should be 3-1 up,” Glasner told TNT Sports. “It has happened too many times this season when we did not finish the game when we had the chance.”
The win moves Strasbourg level on 10 points with Group A leaders Samsunspor, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Iceland’s Breidablik.
Crystal Palace, now 18th in the overall league standings, sit two points outside the top eight — a position that guarantees direct progression to the last 16. Palace still have fixtures remaining against Shelbourne of Ireland and Finland’s KuPS.
Elsewhere, Aberdeen’s search for a first win continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Armenian side Noah.
