The bus was carrying 42 pilgrims from Hyderabad, including women and children. The impact of the collision caused both the bus and the tanker to burst into flames, raising fears of a significant death toll.
Indian politician Asaduddin Owaisi said initial information suggests up to 41 passengers may have died, though Saudi authorities have not yet issued an official confirmation regarding casualties.
Emergency teams in Saudi Arabia are conducting rescue operations at the site, working to control the fire, recover bodies, and assist survivors. Investigations into the cause of the accident are underway.
