Peshawar: The funeral prayer of Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom while courageously fighting militants of Fitna al Khwarij in Khar, Bajaur District, was offered at Peshawar Garrison on Monday.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, attended the funeral prayers along with the Federal Interior Minister, Commander Peshawar Corps, senior military and civil officials, and a large number of people.
Paying rich tribute to the fallen officer, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that the martyrs of the Pakistan Army are the pride of the nation and their supreme sacrifices will always be remembered. He prayed for the elevation of Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed’s ranks in Jannah and for patience and strength for the bereaved family.
Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed laid down his life while leading his troops from the front during an intelligence-based operation against terrorists. His bravery and leadership were widely praised by senior military leadership.
The Pakistan Armed Forces reiterated their firm resolve to eradicate terrorism from the country, stating that such sacrifices further strengthen the nation’s determination to defeat foreign-sponsored militancy.
The Shaheed will be laid to rest with full military honours in his native town of Dera Ismail Khan.
Later, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar, where he inquired about the health of officers and soldiers injured during the operation. He lauded their courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to duty.
