Gold prices surged sharply in both international and Pakistani markets on Tuesday, just a day after rates had remained stable.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold jumped by Rs7,700 per tola, reaching Rs436,562 amid rising global prices and steady investor demand. The rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs6,601, pushing it to Rs374,281.
Prices for 22-karat gold saw a similar rise, with the 10-gram rate increasing by Rs6,051 to Rs343,103.
In the global market, gold prices climbed by $77 per ounce, settling at $4,142. The surge reflects ongoing economic uncertainty, shifting currency trends, and strong investor interest in precious metals.
Silver prices also rose significantly. The per-tola rate of 24-karat silver increased by Rs152 to Rs5,422, while the price for 10 grams rose by Rs130 to reach Rs4,648.
