Gold and silver prices in Pakistan recorded a slight decline on Thursday, January 8, 2025, in line with minor corrections in the international precious metals market, according to the latest interbank rates.

The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reported that the price of 24-karat gold per tola fell by Rs. 600 to Rs. 466,162, while the rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold declined by Rs. 515 to Rs. 399,658. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold was priced at Rs. 366,366, reflecting a decrease of Rs. 472.
In the international market, gold prices slipped by $6 to settle at $4,438 per ounce, contributing to the marginal drop in domestic rates.
Silver prices also dip
Silver prices followed a similar downward trend. The price of 24-karat silver per tola decreased by Rs. 236 to Rs. 8,125, while 10 grams of silver fell by Rs. 203 to Rs. 6,965. On the global market, silver prices dropped by $2.36 to $76.50 per ounce.
Market analysts attributed the decline to minor adjustments in international bullion markets, with local prices reflecting movements in global trends and interbank exchange rates.
