Google has introduced a new repair and warranty initiative for its Pixel 9 Pro lineup, addressing display-related issues reported by a limited number of users. Under the program, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are now eligible for an Extended Repair Program aimed at resolving specific screen problems.
According to Google, affected devices may show vertical lines running from the top to the bottom of the display or experience screen flickering. These issues, the company said, can interfere with core functionality. Eligible units will be repaired free of charge for up to three years from the original retail purchase date.
To qualify, devices must meet the following criteria:
Must show a vertical line from bottom to top or exhibit flickering
Devices with cracked screens or signs of liquid damage may not qualify
Owners can confirm eligibility through Google’s official support website.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold Gets 3-Year Extended Warranty
Alongside the repair program for the standard models, Google also announced an Extended Warranty Program for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The foldable device is now covered for three years in cases where functionality issues—believed to be display-related—arise.
While Google has not disclosed the exact nature of the fault, the company confirmed that eligible devices may receive a free replacement.
Eligibility notes include:
Cracked displays, damaged cover glass or liquid intrusion may void eligibility
Devices previously repaired for display issues could still be covered, depending on the circumstances
Pixel 9 Pro Fold owners can also verify their device’s eligibility through Google’s website.
