Karachi: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has launched a major crackdown on illegal constructions across the city, following strict directives from Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.

The operation has commenced in District South and District East, targeting multiple unauthorized structures identified for immediate action. The minister has instructed rigorous monitoring of all responsible officers to ensure strict enforcement without compromise.
SBCA Director General Muzammil Hussain Halepoto, acting on a detailed vigilance report, has ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter. The Additional Director General (Operations) has been appointed as the official Inquiry Officer to oversee the investigation and ensure accountability.
Authorities emphasized that the crackdown reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining urban planning standards and curbing illegal construction practices in Karachi.
