Lahore’s skyline came alive with vibrant colors as the historic Basant festival made a much-anticipated return, drawing enthusiastic crowds and prominent showbiz personalities into the celebrations after a hiatus of more than two decades.

The three-day festival is being held under strict regulations imposed by the Punjab government, ensuring safety while reviving one of the city’s most cherished cultural traditions. The return of Basant has restored Lahore’s festive charm, with rooftops adorned with colorful kites, bustling streets, and an atmosphere filled with joy and excitement.
Several celebrities from across the country and abroad joined the celebrations at the Delhi Gate event. Among those in attendance were actors Yasir Hussain, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Adeel, Mohib Mirza, and actresses Jagan Kazim, Ali Zarghoon, Faryal Khan, Gohar, and Amna. The presence of showbiz stars added glamour to the festivities and attracted large crowds.
The celebrities expressed their appreciation to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for facilitating the festival’s revival. Actor Mikaal Zulfiqar remarked that Lahore and Basant are inseparable, calling it heartening to witness the festival’s return, while actor Adeel credited the chief minister for restoring the cultural celebration.
Actress Saba Qamar also joined in the celebrations, sharing that she had reserved two days from her busy schedule specifically for kite flying. Actress Ayeza Khan took the festivities a step further by sharing images dressed in traditional attire, capturing the spirit of Punjabi culture. Actors Imran Ashraf and Usama Khan were also spotted flying kites from rooftops, adding to the festive mood across the city.
Veteran actress Noor Bukhari thanked the authorities for reinstating Basant, while Hania Aamir emphasized the importance of preserving cultural traditions alongside maintaining public safety.
