RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, along with Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with a particular focus on regional security dynamics and professional military cooperation. The discussions highlighted the importance of sustained engagement and collaboration between the armed forces of Pakistan and Libya.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir welcomed the visiting dignitaries and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya. He also reiterated Pakistan’s support for peace, stability and institutional development in Libya.
The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the longstanding friendly ties between the two countries.
Earlier, upon arrival at Noor Khan Airbase, Field Marshal Haftar was received by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The Libyan commander also paid homage to Pakistan’s martyrs and laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial at GHQ.
