ISLAMABAD: A high-level defence delegation led by Bangladesh Air Force Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan called on Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters on Monday, with discussions focused on enhancing bilateral air force cooperation.

The meeting emphasized strengthening operational coordination, institutional synergy, training, capacity building and collaboration in aerospace and advanced defence technologies. The visiting Air Chief was accorded a Guard of Honour on arrival at Air Headquarters.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu briefed the Bangladeshi delegation on the Pakistan Air Force’s recent operational and technological advancements. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Bangladesh Air Force through a comprehensive training framework, ranging from basic and advanced flying training to specialized professional courses at PAF institutions.
He also assured the visiting delegation of the fast-tracked delivery of Super Mushshak trainer aircraft, along with a complete training and long-term maintenance support ecosystem.
The Bangladesh Air Force chief praised the PAF’s professional excellence and combat record, expressing keen interest in benefiting from its operational experience. He sought Pakistan’s support in maintenance solutions for Bangladesh’s aging air fleet and the integration of modern air defence radar systems to strengthen air surveillance capabilities.
Detailed discussions were also held on the potential procurement of JF-17 Thunder multirole fighter aircraft. During the visit, the Bangladeshi delegation toured key PAF facilities, including the National ISR and Integrated Air Operations Centre, PAF Cyber Command and the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, where they were briefed on capabilities in ISR, cyber warfare, space, electronic warfare and unmanned systems.
The visit highlighted the strong historical ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh and reflected a shared commitment to expanding defence cooperation and building a long-term strategic partnership between the two air forces.
