Wearing a blue UNICEF shirt, Qamar — who serves as Pakistan’s National Ambassador for Child Rights — urged the public to “come together” to ensure the protection and fulfilment of every child’s rights.
In a video posted on Instagram, she emphasised that “every child has a right to learn, to grow up healthy, to live in a safe environment, and to have a voice in the decisions that shape their future.”
Qamar also encouraged Pakistanis to “turn Pakistan blue” in solidarity with the global observance of World Children’s Day.
Appointed in 2024 as UNICEF’s first National Ambassador for Child Rights in Pakistan, she has pledged to use her influence to highlight issues affecting the country’s young population, including child marriage, education, mental health, gender equality, climate change, and the effects of violence and poverty.
