The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has stepped up its campaign against illegal constructions across Karachi, demolishing unauthorized structures built in violation of approved building plans in multiple areas of the city.

Acting on the directives of Sindh Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and under the supervision of Director General Muzammil Hussain Halepoto, the SBCA has taken action against 1,756 illegal constructions so far this year. The operations involved the demolition of unlawful portions of buildings to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Among the major actions carried out on Friday was the demolition of an illegal penthouse at the G+14 Parsa Tower on Shahrah-e-Faisal. Unauthorized constructions were also removed from several plots in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Allahwala Town, Korangi and Keamari.
SBCA officials said the demolitions targeted structures that deviated from sanctioned building plans. Director General Halepoto stated that all actions were taken strictly in accordance with the law, reaffirming the authority’s commitment to making Karachi a safe, organized and legally developed city.
He added that the crackdown against illegal constructions would continue on a regular basis, warning violators that no leniency would be shown.
Urban planning experts say the SBCA’s sustained efforts are helping curb unchecked construction, improve public safety and support long-term, sustainable urban development in Karachi.
