According to industry sources, Khan will play the role of a police officer in an extended cameo in the sequel to the hit action-comedy. The appearance will mark Khan’s debut in Tamil cinema and his first on-screen collaboration with Rajinikanth.
Reports suggest that most of the film has already been shot, with only Khan’s portions remaining. The actor, known for blockbuster films such as Jawan and Pathaan, is expected to begin filming his scenes later this month, after which production for the movie will be completed.
It remains unclear whether Khan will replace Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna, who was initially expected to appear in an extended cameo but reportedly withdrew due to scheduling conflicts.
The sequel’s cast continues to expand, with several prominent names associated with the project. Actor Jatin Sarna recently shared photographs from the film’s set alongside Rajinikanth, veteran star Mithun Chakraborty and actress Vidya Balan.
Like the first instalment, the film will also feature cameo appearances from South Indian stars Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar. Returning cast members from the original film include Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa Menon and Yogi Babu.
With an expanded cast and cross-industry star power, Jailer 2 is expected to generate significant anticipation among fans across India’s film industries.
