KARACHI, 22 November 2025 — The Sindh Police Games 2025 concluded successfully with a vibrant closing ceremony at the Police Headquarters Garden South. Sindh Home Minister Syed Zia Hassan Lanjar attended as the chief guest and was received with a formal salute by a police contingent.
The event commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran and prayers at the Sindh Police Martyrs’ Monument. The ceremony was attended by Inspector General of Police Sindh, senior officials from all ranges, and other dignitaries.
Home Minister Lanjar welcomed the revival of the Sindh Police Games after a 12-year hiatus, expressing hope that the event would now be held annually. He highlighted the participation of 217 women athletes as a milestone and praised all participants for their exemplary sportsmanship.
Karachi Range secured first place, SSU finished second, and Telecom Police claimed third in the overall competitions. The Home Minister announced initiatives to promote sports within the force, including recruitment under the sports quota through a streamlined one-window system.
Emphasizing the link between peace and economic growth in Karachi, Lanjar lauded the Sindh Police for their role in maintaining city security. He directed the IGP to award One Basic Pay to top-performing athletes, noting that physical, mental, and moral strength gained through sports is essential in combating crime.
Sindh Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar underscored the importance of sports in keeping the mind and body healthy, particularly for the challenging profession of policing.
IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon confirmed that the Sindh Police Games would now be an annual event. He highlighted ongoing modernization efforts, including advancements in investigation and crime-fighting departments, and praised the motivation of police personnel during his visits to Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, and Mirpurkhas.
The ceremony concluded with medal and shield presentations to winners, followed by a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the evening sky.
