The recognition follows the massive success of her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, which, according to Billboard data compiled by Luminate, recorded the biggest first-week sales of any album in the modern music era.
IFPI said Swift achieved exceptional worldwide engagement across streaming, digital downloads and physical formats, boosted further by the release of her tour documentary The End of an Era.
Swift was previously named IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year in 2014, 2019, and consecutively from 2022 to 2024. With her latest win, she has now secured the title as many times as all other artists combined over the past decade, reflecting sustained global popularity and consistent commercial success.
The award is determined by measuring worldwide music consumption across streaming platforms, downloads and physical sales throughout the calendar year, covering an artist’s complete catalogue.
K-pop group Stray Kids ranked second on the 2025 list, while Canadian rapper Drake secured third place.
