The operation, led by Captain Asmad (28, Lahore), involved heavy machinery under extreme winter conditions. At around 2 AM on 3 January, a snow slide was triggered, entrapping Captain Asmad, Sepoy Rizwan (32, Attock), and a civilian machine operator, Essa (Astore), along with another soldier. Intensive rescue efforts successfully recovered all four individuals, but unfortunately, Captain Asmad, Sepoy Rizwan, and Essa succumbed to their injuries and embraced Shahadat.
These individuals made the ultimate sacrifice while performing a critical operation in harsh weather to ensure the mobility of Pakistan Armed Forces. Their bravery and dedication exemplify the resolve of Pakistan’s military personnel to defend the nation, even at the cost of their own lives.
