Islamabad (Jan 28, 2026): Two senior officers of the Pakistan Navy have been promoted from the rank of Commodore to Rear Admiral, according to an official announcement on Tuesday.
Rear Admiral Javed Zia was commissioned into the Weapon Engineering Branch of the Pakistan Navy in 1994. He is a graduate of the Pakistan Navy War College Lahore and the National Defence University Islamabad, and holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). Over the course of his distinguished naval career, he has served in several key command and staff appointments. He is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Materiel) at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad.
Rear Admiral Armaghan Ahmad was commissioned into the Marine Engineering Branch in 1994. He is also a graduate of the Pakistan Navy War College Lahore and the National Defence University Islamabad, and earned a Master of Science in Manufacturing System Engineering and Management from NUST. With extensive experience across critical naval appointments, he is presently serving as Managing Director Dockyard, Karachi.
In recognition of their meritorious services to the Pakistan Navy, both newly promoted flag officers have been awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).
