British minister Steve Reed has dismissed claims that Iran has the capability or intent to launch ballistic missile attacks on Europe.

Speaking to the BBC, Reed said there was “no assessment” supporting assertions that Iran could strike cities such as London, Paris, or Berlin. His remarks came after the Israel Defense Forces claimed that Tehran possesses missiles capable of reaching major European capitals.
“I’m not aware of any assessment at all that they are even trying to target Europe, let alone that they could if they tried,” Reed stated.
In a separate interview, Reed also addressed recent comments by Donald Trump, who warned of severe action against Iran if it failed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Reed emphasized that Trump was expressing his own position and clarified that the United Kingdom would not be drawn into the conflict. However, he reaffirmed that Britain would safeguard its interests in the region and work with allies to reduce tensions.
The comments reflect a cautious stance from London amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
