Rawalpindi, February 5, 2026: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with senior ministers, paid an official visit to Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) on Thursday as part of his state visit to Pakistan.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), warmly received President Mirziyoyev and his delegation and accompanied them during their tour of the facility.
During the visit, the Uzbek president was briefed on GIDS’ diverse portfolio, including advanced defence solutions, industrial capabilities, and technological innovations. The delegation toured key facilities and observed a range of defence products, highlighting Pakistan’s expanding expertise in indigenous defence manufacturing and industrial development.
The visit underscored the shared commitment of Pakistan and Uzbekistan to deepen cooperation in defence, technology, and industrial sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships through knowledge exchange, joint ventures, and collaborative projects.
Officials said the visit marked an important step toward enhancing bilateral relations and exploring multiple avenues of cooperation between Pakistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
