Popular YouTuber Rajab Butt was physically assaulted by a group of lawyers during his appearance at a sessions court in Karachi on Monday, leaving him seriously injured.
According to sources, Rajab Butt had arrived at the court to seek interim bail when several lawyers suddenly attacked him inside the court premises. The assault resulted in severe injuries, with blood reported to be flowing from his jaw and mouth.
Following the incident, tensions escalated within the court, prompting swift intervention by police and court staff, who managed to bring the situation under control.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no official statement has yet been issued by any lawyers’ association regarding the incident.
Despite the disruption, the court proceeded briefly with the hearing and extended Rajab Butt’s interim bail until January 13. He was later shifted to a medical facility for treatment. Hospital sources said his condition is stable, though further medical examinations are underway.
Police have launched a formal investigation into the assault and are reviewing footage from the court’s security cameras to identify those involved. Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken against the perpetrators.
