Police identified the deceased as Farhan, whose body was shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities. Authorities said the tanker driver fled the scene immediately after the accident but was later arrested. The vehicle has also been taken into custody.
Rescue officials reported that the fatality adds to a growing list of deadly incidents involving heavy vehicles in Karachi, with the death toll reaching 245 so far this year.
The tragic incident has once again highlighted the persistent issue of unregulated heavy traffic in residential areas and the urgent need for stricter enforcement and road safety measures across the city.
