The 50th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Polo and Tent Pegging Championship 2025 concluded with a grand closing ceremony at the Jinnah Polo Fields (JPF), Lahore, highlighting the Pakistan Army’s rich sporting traditions and commitment to excellence.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), graced the ceremony as the chief guest. The event was also attended by the Federal Minister for Interior, the Chief Secretary Punjab, senior military and civil officials, and a large number of spectators.
Upon arrival at the venue, the Field Marshal was received by the Corps Commander Lahore and the Chairman of the Pakistan Polo Federation.
The championship showcased the Pakistan Army’s longstanding heritage of sportsmanship, discipline, and competitive spirit. A total of eight teams from various formations participated in the tournament.
After closely contested matches, Peshawar Corps emerged as the champions of the tournament, while Gujranwala Corps secured the runners-up position.
During the closing ceremony, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir distributed trophies and prizes among the winning teams and outstanding players. He appreciated the participants for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to promoting traditional sports such as polo and tent pegging.
The successful conclusion of the championship underscored the Pakistan Army’s role in fostering athletic excellence and preserving historic equestrian sports.
