According to an ISPR statement, security forces carried out multiple intelligence-based area sanitisation and targeted operations during the night of July 28 and 29 in Khyber district.
The military said troops engaged several militant hideouts during the operations and killed 24 militants linked to what it described as Fitna al Khwarij.
Meanwhile, security forces launched separate intelligence-based operations in Nushki district of Balochistan. After an intense exchange of fire, troops killed eight militants, according to the ISPR.
Additionally, security personnel recovered and destroyed weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices allegedly used by the militants.
The ISPR said security forces are continuing sanitisation operations to clear the area of any remaining militants.
The military added that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue to target what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism across the country.
