Pakistan pays tribute to Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed on his martyrdom anniversary.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his 78th martyrdom anniversary on Monday.

They praised his courage, patriotism and sacrifice for the country during the First Kashmir War in 1948.
In their separate messages, the president and prime minister said Captain Sarwar created a lasting example of bravery and devotion to duty.
The national leaders highlighted that he became Pakistan’s first recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider after giving his life while fighting for the Kashmir cause.
Moreover, they said his sacrifice would continue to inspire future generations and remain a symbol of national pride.
President Zardari described Captain Sarwar Shaheed’s sacrifice as a reflection of courage, loyalty and dedication. He said the brave officer left a legacy that the nation will always remember.
He added that Pakistan’s martyrs are a valuable national asset. Their sacrifices continue to strengthen the country’s defence and unity.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Captain Sarwar Shaheed showed that the entire nation stands united whenever the country’s security is at stake.
He said the martyr’s sense of duty, courage and commitment on the battlefield would continue to guide young generations.
Furthermore, the prime minister reaffirmed that Pakistan remains proud of Captain Sarwar Shaheed and all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the country.
