Black Sea Attacks drew strong condemnation from Türkiye after drones targeted two merchant ships in the Black Sea, raising fresh concerns over the safety of international shipping. Several crew members suffered injuries during the incidents. The ministry said officials are closely monitoring the condition of the injured sailors. Meanwhile, Türkiye voiced deep concern over rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine in the Black Sea. It warned that repeated attacks on civilian shipping continue to endanger international maritime transport. Furthermore, the ministry said disruptions to commercial shipping could threaten global trade routes and food security. Türkiye urged all relevant parties to take immediate and effective steps to ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea. It stressed that protecting commercial vessels remains essential for maintaining uninterrupted maritime trade. According to reports, the two ships targeted in the attacks were Yasar and Nadezhda. The vessels sail under the flags of Panama and Cameroon, respectively, but Turkish companies own both ships. The latest attacks have renewed concerns over the security of commercial shipping in the Black Sea as regional tensions continue to affect maritime operations.
