Atif Aslam: Pakistani singer says he misses Indian fans and Bollywood connection

Atif Aslam has said he misses his Indian fans and the strong connection he built with audiences across the border during his Bollywood career.

In a recent interview, the Pakistani singer also discussed his upcoming music project, Borderless Music. He said the project will bring together young and established artists, musicians, songwriters and industry legends.

“I am working on a new project called ‘Borderless Music’,” Atif said. He added that listeners could expect plenty of new music from the project.

Addressing his Indian fans, the singer urged them not to feel disappointed by restrictions on Pakistani artists working in India.

“I want to tell all my Indian fans not to feel sad or bad because of the ban. Just know that I have always missed you guys,” he said.

Atif clarified that he does not necessarily miss working in India itself. Instead, he misses the fans and the bond they developed through his music.

“I don’t miss working there, but I definitely miss you guys,” he said.

The singer also reflected on his experience as a playback artist in Bollywood. He said the work taught him valuable lessons and eventually encouraged him to focus more on creating his own music.

Atif suggested that the restrictions on Pakistani artists may have influenced the direction of his career. Without those restrictions, he said, his creative journey might have taken a different path.

He also thanked his Indian audience for continuing to support his music despite the strained circumstances between the two countries.

Atif previously gained widespread popularity in India through songs featured in Bollywood films. His work helped him build a large following among Indian music fans.
