RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said the present and future of Balochistan and Pakistan are inseparable, stressing that lasting peace and stability are essential to unlocking the province’s economic potential. During an interaction with political leaders, notables and representatives of Balochistan, Field Marshal Munir said the province had talented, resilient and patriotic people, while its youth represented one of the country’s most promising segments. He said empowering young people and creating opportunities for them to contribute to national development remained central to sustainable progress. The army chief also stressed the importance of a clear national narrative, saying durable peace and stability could help attract investment and convert Balochistan’s human and natural resources into greater prosperity for its people. Pakistan: Security forces kill 49 terrorists in joint operations across KP, Balochistan Field Marshal Munir said security threats posed by what he described as foreign-sponsored militant groups were aimed at destabilising Balochistan, obstructing its development and creating divisions between the state and its people. He said such efforts would be countered through national unity and a decisive response from the state. The army chief appreciated the role of Balochistan’s political and community leaders in promoting peace, social cohesion and constructive national discourse. He urged society to counter hostile propaganda, challenge what he described as false narratives and highlight the province’s potential, development and aspirations. Field Marshal Munir said the destiny of Balochistan ultimately rested with its people. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to peace, development and prosperity in Balochistan and Pakistan. They also pledged to support the state and armed forces against threats to peace and stability and to contribute to people-centred development in the province.
