Easy Tax Scheme registration centres set up by FBR to facilitate small traders in Pakistan.Easy Tax Scheme registration drive as FBR targets more traders across Pakistan.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set registration targets for its field offices to accelerate the enrolment of traders under the Easy Tax Scheme.

According to sources, FBR field offices in major cities will establish dedicated registration centres to make it easier for traders to join the scheme.

The move comes after a relatively small number of traders filed tax returns under the programme.

Sources said only around 200 traders had so far submitted returns under the Easy Tax Scheme, leaving registrations and returns below the targets set by the tax authority.

The FBR has therefore instructed its field formations to step up efforts to register more traders and encourage them to file returns.

Sources said small traders would continue to receive relief even if they register after the September 30 deadline.

Meanwhile, around 5,000 traders have already registered through the mobile application introduced under the scheme.

The Easy Tax Scheme aims to bring small businesses and shopkeepers into the formal tax system and encourage them to register with tax authorities.

The FBR expects the registration drive and new facilitation centres to help increase participation and improve compliance among small traders.
