The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has recorded the highest monthly revenue collection in its history, collecting Rs2.74 billion in September 2026. The corporation’s total revenue collection for the first quarter of the 2026–27 financial year reached Rs7.584 billion, reflecting efforts to recover outstanding dues and strengthen its revenue collection system. Chief Commercial Officer Haris Sarfraz attributed the increase to an effective recovery strategy, improved engagement with industrial, bulk and government consumers, and measures to improve the corporation’s collection mechanism. Sarfraz said the corporation had divided consumers into categories based on how long their payments had remained outstanding. Officials adopted separate recovery strategies for each group to improve collections. The corporation also deployed its own staff and outsourced teams to speed up recoveries, establishing special teams to work in different areas of Karachi. Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Ali Siddiqui said the financial reforms aimed to improve transparency, strengthen financial discipline and enhance the corporation’s operational capacity. He added that better financial management would help the corporation use its available resources more effectively for water supply, sewerage system improvements and development projects. KW&SC urged consumers to pay their bills and outstanding dues on time, saying stronger revenue collection would improve its financial position and support the continued delivery of services to Karachi residents.
