Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that the ongoing upgradation of the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will be completed by January 25, with the grand inauguration scheduled for January 27.

During a media interaction at the stadium, Naqvi expressed his optimism about the timely completion of the renovation work. The inauguration event, slated for January 27, will feature several high-profile figures and is expected to be a major occasion for cricket fans.
On the ongoing South Africa tour, Naqvi acknowledged the national cricket team’s challenges, particularly after Pakistan’s defeat in the first Test and their follow-on in the second. However, he emphasized that both victories and defeats are part of the sport, and praised the team for their ongoing fight and determination.
Addressing concerns about young opener Saim Ayub’s medical treatment, Naqvi assured that the PCB would prioritize his health. Saim is scheduled to travel to London with assistant coach Azhar Mahmood for specialized treatment from a renowned sports doctor. Naqvi reaffirmed that Saim is a valuable asset to the team and that his recovery is a priority for the PCB.
