Pakistani actress and model Nausheen Shah has opened up about the deeply personal reasons behind her decision to stop wearing the hijab, sharing details of her spiritual transformation during a recent podcast appearance.
Shah revealed that her decision to initially adopt the hijab was inspired by a dream. “I heard a voice in my dream saying that if you don’t cover your head, the angels will leave you. As soon as I woke up, I picked up the dupatta and wore it regularly for about four months,” she shared. She added that she covered her head consistently both during shoots and at home.
However, over time, the actress said she began feeling as though she was living a double life. This internal struggle eventually led her to rethink her choices. “I asked Allah for forgiveness and removed the hijab, even though I used to style it beautifully and it felt nice to wear,” she said.
Reflecting on her spiritual growth, Shah explained that she turned to prayer for guidance and a stronger connection with her faith. “I prayed, ‘O Allah, call me towards you and if you love me, then bring me towards prayer.’ Allah accepted my prayer, and now I pray regularly,” she said.
Shah emphasized that spirituality brings balance and protection, noting that her journey is rooted in personal betterment and a desire to strengthen her relationship with Allah.
