Pakistani singer and actor Farhan Saeed has spoken openly about his experience working on the film Tich Button, offering candid insights into the challenges faced during production. During a recent podcast appearance, Farhan acknowledged that although the project had strong potential, several issues made the process extremely difficult for the team.

He explained that success requires sincerity and harmony within a project. “When you connect with a project, if you are not sincere with it or with the team, or if you have issues with it, it becomes unsuccessful,” he said. Commenting on the casting, he noted, “Iman didn’t have any issues with the project, but it was the wrong casting altogether. We made a film, it was a success, but it was difficult.”
Farhan emphasised that he always commits fully to his work, but unprofessional behaviour from certain individuals made the shoot more demanding. “There were unprofessional people involved. They will hear it and mind it, but that’s the truth,” he said. He further criticised outdated on-set habits, adding, “These are old-school, 90s-style things, being late on set, throwing tantrums. It’s obvious from their career graphs how they are progressing. We conducted screen tests for the actors, but they had a few issues.”
The actor also described the filming conditions as physically taxing, recalling scenes shot in Nankana Sahib where temperatures dropped to minus two degrees. Despite her health challenges, he praised co-star Iman Ali for remaining committed. “She was a star in her own right. She wanted PC-level protocols, which isn’t always possible,” he said.
Farhan extended his appreciation to senior artists including Qavi Khan, Gul-e-Rana, Sohail Ahmed, Samia Mumtaz, and Raahila Agha, calling them “amazing and dedicated people” from whom he learned a great deal.
He also admitted he would avoid working with the same cast again. Joking about the difficulties, Farhan said the film “got Tiched” due to the many production setbacks. Tich Button, initially slated for release in 2019, faced multiple delays before finally premiering in November 2022, receiving a mixed response at the box office.
Beyond the film, Farhan Saeed continues to build a strong reputation in television with notable roles in Udaari, Prem Gali, Mere Humsafar, and Shirin Farhad. He recently released his first independent album, Khat, which has been praised by fans for its sincerity, melodic range, and lyrical depth.
