During the operation, troops effectively engaged the militants’ hideout. Following an intense exchange of fire, seven militants were killed. However, during the firefight, a soldier of the Pakistan Army, Naik Yasir Khan, 34, a resident of District Mardan, embraced martyrdom after fighting bravely.
Security officials said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who were reportedly involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.
A sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the vicinity. Authorities reiterated that the counterterrorism campaign is part of the broader strategy under “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
The security forces and law enforcement agencies emphasized their resolve to continue operations at full pace to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
