In a video posted on social media, Khan was seen seated in a wheelchair as her husband, Fesl Khan, gently pushed her. In the accompanying caption, the actress revealed that she suffered a meniscus tear during pregnancy, which gradually worsened after being neglected.
She wrote candidly about the challenges of new motherhood, explaining that she battled postpartum depression and severe emotional exhaustion during the same period. Compounding her struggles, Khan also endured the loss of a parent and faced multiple cancer-related health scares.
Medical scans later confirmed that surgery was required, though she initially opted for intensive physiotherapy. She described the process as slow and painful, noting that while it showed early promise, it ultimately failed to resolve the issue.
Despite her deteriorating condition, Khan continued working and even made a brief appearance in the drama Meri Tanhai during that physically demanding phase. She admitted that weight gain, self-consciousness, and harsh public criticism took a toll on her mental health.
To protect herself emotionally, the actress said she avoided reading negative comments and focused only on messages of support. Over time, her knee condition worsened further, leaving surgery as the only viable option.
Khan revealed she is currently awaiting surgical repair, adding that she remains hopeful and spiritually grounded. She said she shared the video to present an honest version of herself rather than curated perfection on social media, stressing that it was not meant to seek sympathy or portray herself as a victim.
“I’m actively fighting battles and determined to get better,” she said.
The actress also spoke about the difficulty of managing motherhood, grief, career pressures, and physical pain simultaneously. She credited her husband for his unwavering support, calling his presence a constant source of strength.
Khan concluded her message by thanking fans for their prayers, kindness, and encouragement as she continues her recovery journey.
