Three senior officers of the Pakistan Navy — Rear Admiral Abdul Munib, Rear Admiral Syed Ahmed Salman and Rear Admiral Faisal Amin — have been promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral, according to an official announcement issued on January 2, 2026.

Vice Admiral Abdul Munib, commissioned in the Operations Branch in 1992, is a graduate of the Pakistan Navy War College Lahore, National Defence University Islamabad, and the Naval War College Command Course (USA). His distinguished career includes command of PNS Alamgir, Larkana, Akram and Aatish, along with key appointments such as Commander Combined Task Force-151 at US NAVCENT Bahrain, Naval Secretary, Director General Naval Intelligence and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations). He is currently serving as Commander Pakistan Fleet. He has been awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-i-Basalat for his meritorious services.
Vice Admiral Syed Ahmed Salman, commissioned in the Supply Branch in 1991, is also a graduate of the Pakistan Navy War College and National Defence University. He has served in senior logistics and administrative roles, including Director Procurement (Navy), Secretary to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Supply), and Defence Procurement Attaché in the United Kingdom. He is presently serving as Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Supply) and Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Admin). He has been conferred with Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military).
Vice Admiral Faisal Amin, commissioned in the Operations Branch in 1992, is a graduate of the Royal College of Defence Studies (UK), Army Command and Staff College Quetta, and National Defence University Islamabad. His career highlights include command of PNS Rajshahi and Alamgir, Commander Surface Task Group-1, and senior staff roles such as Director Naval Operations, Principal Secretary to the Chief of the Naval Staff, and Naval Secretary. He is currently serving as Commander Coast and has received Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-i-Basalat for distinguished service.
The promotions reflect the Pakistan Navy’s continued emphasis on professional excellence, leadership, and operational experience at the highest levels of command.
