In Lakki Marwat, three traffic police officials lost their lives when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on them while they were on duty near Sarai Norang. The martyred officers were identified as Traffic Police In-charge Naurang Jalal Khan, Police Constable Azizullah, and Police Constable Abdullah.
Following the attack, a heavy contingent of police reached the scene, cordoned off the area, and shifted the bodies to Naurang Hospital. An investigation was immediately launched to trace the assailants.
In a separate but similar incident, another police officer, Rashid Khan, was martyred in Bannu’s Qafshi Khel area under the jurisdiction of Mandan Police Station. According to police, unidentified motorcyclists carried out the shooting before fleeing the scene.
Officials believe the attacks may be coordinated, prompting security forces to intensify patrols and intelligence-based operations across the region. Surveillance footage is being reviewed and multiple checkpoints have been set up to track down the suspects.
Local authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement as search operations continue in both districts.
