Second-placed Milan moved to 47 points, while Roma climbed to third on 43, level with Napoli, who earlier suffered a 3-0 defeat. Inter had increased pressure in the title race on Friday with an emphatic 6-2 comeback victory over Pisa.
Roma created several chances in the first half, but Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan delivered an outstanding performance, including a crucial reflex save on the goal line just before halftime. His display earned him the Man-of-the-Match award.
After a difficult opening period, Milan took the lead in the 62nd minute when Koni De Winter rose to head home from a cross, sparking celebrations on the visitors’ bench.
Roma responded 12 minutes later after Davide Bartesaghi was penalized for handball, prompting the referee to award a penalty. Lorenzo Pellegrini calmly converted from the spot to restore parity.
Both teams pushed for a winner in the closing stages, with Roma dominating possession while Milan looked to counter. Milan survived a late scare when the ball struck Christian Pulisic’s arm, but the referee ruled no penalty as his arm was close to his body.
The match ended level, with both sides forced to settle for a share of the points.
